At 40 AKTE’s campaign and advocacy continues to make tourism much better than what it was 40 years ago when sustainability or companies taking responsibility was hardly mentioned not to talk about it being a global agenda.   I was fortunate to be present at Mumbai during the World Social Summit in 2004 where we called for fair and equitable Practices in tourism and recently at the 2017 Berlin meeting on Transforming Tourism where we are concerned that the current dominant tourism model needs transformation to meet the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development. I can say with certainty that AKTE was always present in pushing the sustainability bar further for the industry to follow whiles maintaining global solidarity with those most affected by tourism in the "South". Thumps Up!
Keep up the good work! The struggles continue, BETTER TOURISM IS POSSIBLE!
